520			_aAbstract: Background: Hepatitis B is a leading cause of chronic hepatitis, cirrhosis, and extracellular carcinoma, accounting for 1 million deaths annually. Health care workers are at high risk of acquiring hepatitis B while carrying out their occupational duties. The aim of this study was to determine knowledge, attitude and practice on hepatitis B vaccination among healthcare workers at Sekou- Toure regional hospital, Mwanza. Methodology: a descriptive cross sectional study that involved interview based questionnaire was distributed to health care works present on the days of research at Sekou Toure regional hospital Mwanza.. Results: 184 participants were included of which 110(58.9%) were female and 70(40%) male. 86%had significant knowledge on hepatitis b vaccination and as less as 3.2% did not 9.1%had positive altitude to weather vaccine to be obligatory and 8.1% said it should not. 38.5%had never been vaccinated against hepatitis, 23.9%had received at least one shot and 39.1% had completed three shot of hepatitis vaccine. Conclusion: knowledge on hepatitis b vaccination among health care work is high and the altitude is positive despite the fact large number of health care works observed do not tend to practice hepatitis b vaccination
