520 _aBackground: Improving access to surgical services and understanding the barriers to receiving timely care are necessary to save lives. The aim of this study was to assess delays among patients in northern Ghana using the Three-Model delays: timely presentation to appropriate health facility (first and second delay) and in-hospital delay (third delay). Methods: A total of 802 patients were assessed prospectively for first, second and third delays. Pairwise correlation coefficients between delay in presentation and factors associated with first, second and third delays were conducted and served as a foundation for a multivariate log-linear regression model.
