Abstract:
Background: HIV related stigma and discrimination act as a barrier for many years worldwide preventing people from testing, seek for care and treatment. In Tanzania poorer, less educated and those in rural areas stigma has been found to be more common and its fuel the spread of infection. Therefore HIV prevention programme should take account into this.
Objectives: To provide integrated care for PLWHA by strengthening the capacity of the families and community to care for them.
Method: Descriptive cross sectional study by using a structured questionnaire with open and closed question from September to October.
Rationale: The finding from this study will identify the level of HIV related stigma, associated factors and provide recommendation on how to reduce HIV related stigma which act as a barrier to fight against the disease.
