This study aimed at assessing the knowledge and practice towards food drug interaction among pharmaceutical personnel. A cross sectional study was conducted using semi-structured questionnaire by convenience sample method which included pharmaceutical personnel in community pharmacies at Nyamagana district, Mwanza, Tanzania. A total number of 75 questionnaires were filled, which were used to assess the knowledge and practice of pharmaceutical personnel concerning food drug interaction. The mean scores for knowledge was 7.34 ± 2.43 where the maximum score was 13. The mean score obtained for practice was 1.87 ± 1.33 where the maximum score was 8. Knowledge and practice of the pharmaceutical personnel was shown to be inadequate. There is a need for increasing awareness and training seasons on potential food drug interaction among this group.
