Abstract:
A retrospective cross sectional was done at Bugando medical centre. All women who delivered 6017 at Bugando medical centre in 2016 were included. Among those 6017, 86 (1.4%) women develop PPH. The major risk factors contributing to PPH are macrosomnia 20 (23.3%), prolonged labour 14 (16.3%), episiotomy 7 (8.1), APH 9 (10.5%), multiple pregnancies 5 (5.8%), and multiparity 41 (47.7%). Spontaneous vaginal delivery 72 (83.7%) in causing PPH. Postpartum anemia has been shown to be major outcome 30 (34.9%) following PPH.
