The impact of congenital anomalies is particularly severe in middle and low income countries like Tanzania where health care resources are limited. The prevalence of congenital anomalies varies in different parts of the world, which could reflect different etiological factors in different geographical regions. Methodology: This was retrospective hospital based study which was done at Sekou Toure regional referral and Bugando tertiary hospital involving infant admitted from January 2017 to December 2018 Infants with no specific anomaly were not included in the study. Case file were used to collect infant’s information involving about 369 samples. Data analyzed using SPSS version 20. Results: The overall prevalence of congenital anomalies in this study was 1.1%. Among 369 infants obtained 196 (53.1%) are boys, 173 (46.9%) are girls. The most encountered age group less than 2 month which is about 194 (52.6%) and least encountered age group was 5-8 month 28 (7.6%). Conclusion: This results could shed light on the pattern as well as the various risk factors for congenital anomalies.
