The study aimed to access the level of patient satisfaction with surgery and procedure performed under cardiothoracic (CT) department. Methods: Hospital based cross-sectional study involving 110 patients were conducted at Bugando medical centre (BMC) between September and October 2018. Socio-demographic and other relevant information were collected using pre-tested questionnaire. Collected data were analysed using statistical package for social science (SPSS) version 20. Results: The overall level of patients satisfaction with surgeries and procedures performed under CT department was 77.95%. Majority of patients were satisfied (83.4%) with services given at outpatient department (OPD) compared with the patient admitted in wards (78.3%). Patients were dissatisfied with adequacy of information about the side effects of drugs, 46 (41.8%), fairness of cost of investigations and medication 78 (70.9%). Conclusion: The level of patient satisfaction with surgeries and procedure performed under CT department was 77.95%. Fairness of medication and investigation costs should be taken into consideration together with adequacy of information about side effect of drugs and possible complication that may occur after surgery. Health professional should improve the ability in order to win the interests and first the expectations of the patients.
