The hospital is located in Mwanza town city, offers all health facilities and has different medical departments includes, surgery, internal medicine, obstetrics and gynecology and other departments.
The pediatric department has the capacity to treat and manage a variety of different pediatric conditions and its offers both in and out-patient management of pediatric department have 50 beds for admission.
The pediatric team members include pediatricians, nurses, medical attendant and students from CUHAS-Bugando who had clinical rotations in the department as a part of their learning. The regional hospital is not equipped to care for patients with malnutrition, prematurity, and those with ICU needs. These patients are referred to Bugando medical centre for further managements
