Abstract:

Background : Diabetic foot ulcer is neurovascular complication of diabetes mellitus as a result of poorly controlled Diabetes Mellitus. The main goal of this research was to search on the bacterial profile of the Diabetic foot ulcers among Diabetic patients attended at BMC.

Methods: This was a retrospective cross- sectional study based on data collected from January 2022 to December 2023 , at BMC.

Expected outcome :This study has generated valuable information, about bacteria isolated from DFU and the result will open way for other researchers to explore more on the Bacteria isolated on DFU and way forward to management.

Results: Research included total of 196 with mean age of 55 in which The study found that the most of the bacteria found to be implicated in DFU to be Staphylococcus Aureus with 24.5% of the patients. This was followed by Enterococcus Faecalis with 17.9%, Escherichia Coli with 17.3%, Klebsiella pneumoniae13.3%, Proteus Mirabilis 11.7%, Pseudomonas Aeruginosa 10.2%, and Staphylococcus Epidermidis (4.6%.)
