Background: Delivering quality radiological services have been reported to have significant relationship with patient satisfaction. This study was aimed at identifying the levels of patient satisfac-tion which are influenced by radiological services, the physical appearance of the facilities and the courtesy of the radiology staff. A cross sectional survey was used in the investiga-tion and questionnaires was administered at the exit point to a patient who received the service to ascertain their satisfaction with the radiological services. There were 370 re-spondents who were interviewed, 182 (49.19%) males and 188 (50.81%) female.
Methods: This is a cross-sectional, descriptive study in which 370 respondent (patients) who had re-ceived radiological services at Bugando Medical Centre in the department of radiology were surveyed immediately after their radiological examination to ascertain their satisfac-tion with the services they have received. Convenience sampling procedure was used where the questionnaires was administered at the exit point and patient satisfaction was measured using a Likert scale.
Results: The overall patient satisfaction towards radiological service was that the majority 292 (78.9%) were satisfied and 78 (21.1%) were dissatisfied.
Conclusion: This study found that majority of respondents was satisfied with the radiological services. the explanation given to the patient before, during and after the examination, duration of waiting time before examination, courtesy of the staff, the status of the facilities and time taken to get the results or report of examination were important factors influencing the sat-isfaction condition. Hence, concerned effort is needed to constantly improve on patient satisfaction to better radiology returns.it is recommended to give great care and attention to clients (patient) during radiological examination room.
