Background: The Diabetes is a problem which affect many parts of the world posing a great threat in health and socio-economic challenges. The International Diabetes Federation (IDF) has increasingly recognized to record the rise of 54%, which expected to be two times in 2030. The reality show the dramatic increase of the diabetes cases in the developing world.
Aim of the study: this study is organized to address the dietary knowledge among adolescents with T1DM attending at Bugando medical Centre. The attitude towards diabetes among adolescent with T1DM attending at BMC and the practice among adolescents with T1DM attending at BMC.
Method: this study applied a cross sectional study at Bugando medical centre diabetes clinic. The study population basically include adolescents aged 10 – 18 years attending at diabetes clinic at Bugando medical centre. The 86 are the respondents who are adolescents’ age 10 – 18 years attending at diabetes clinic will asked to provide information.
Results: The secondary data were collected from hospital attendance system, information on the Dietary knowledge, attitudes and practice among adolescent with type 1 Diabetes Mellitus attending at Bugando Medical Centre in the study area. Primary data will be collected through questionnaire on the dietary knowledge among adolescents with T1DM attending at Bugando medical Centre.
