Health related quality of life is a critical, yet is disregarded part of chronic kidney disease care. Alongside survival and different kinds of clinical results, patient quality of life is an important marker of the effectiveness of the medical care they get. The study aimed to assess the quality of life of patients undergoing hemodialysis at Bugando medical centre hospital. Methods: A cross sectional study design conducted in Bugando medical centre referral hospital in Mwanza, Tanzania. The sample include CKD patients undergoing hemodialysis for at least 3 months, the kidney diseases quality of life short form questionnaire were used to obtain the information through structured interview. The study lasted from 01 July to 10 September 2019. The data analyzed through statistical package for social science (SPSS) software version 20 and chi-square. Results: Participants were 80 patients with mean age of years, 75% were male, 91% were married, 3.8% were illiterate and 66% were in age of group (41-50) years. Overall the quality of life scores was higher in male patients than female. Regarding the quality of life domains only symptoms/problem, sleep scale, quality of social interaction, social support, patient satisfaction, emotional wellbeing and cognitive function domains were at average level of quality of life, the rest domains were below average level. Conclusion: According to the finding of the study, the patients with end stage renal failure undergoing hemodialysis had poor quality of life in most domain. ER -
