Patient’s medication counselling on dispensing of medications should give the patient clear and complete instructions on how to take drugs. Methodology: A cross sectional study was conducted in community pharmacies located in Nyamagana and Ilemela municipal. The study involved 81 drug dispensers in community pharmacies. Results and Discussion: Most of drug dispensers were knowledgeable about 44 (54.3%) they always update their drug information. Where by 52 (64.2%) use leaflets as the main source of drug information, 24 (29.6%) formularies and guidelines while 21 (25.9%) standard textbook. Most of dispensers about 70 (86.4%) has positive attitude on both dispensers and prescriber are responsible for counselling while 11 (13.6%) has negative attitude. There were barriers from counselling the patients, low level of knowledge this prohibit 56 (69.1%) of dispensers from counselling, high patients load 32 (39.5%), lack of enough time 39 (48.1%), patients factors 60 (74.1%) and lack of private room 40 (49.4%). Conclusion and Recommendation: Most of the drug dispensers are knowledgeable on the patients medication counselling and all important information required during counselling. Government should provide accessibility of up to date information since it seems most of dispensers are not accessible to information that are up to dated ER -
