Abstract:

Background: Schistosoma mansoni is among the known neglected tropical disease (NTD) in Tanzania. SM are a group of trematodes living in human intestines and their eggs excreted through feaces. SM is commonly found in the Great lake zones in East Africa because the fresh water favors their intermediate host snails.

Objectives: To assess Perceptions of primary schools children, teachers and parents on schistosomiasis mansoni mass drug administration in Nyamagana district Mwanza.

Methodology: This was a descriptive cross sectional study was conducted in Bugarika Market area and the primary schools of Mlimani and Milonge in Nyamagana district in Mwanza. Participants were recruited consecutively until the estimated sample size achieved. Data was collected by using a structure questionnaire. The data obtained was entered and then analyzed using the SPSS version 20.
