Background: Anaemia is a condition in which the number of red blood cells or their oxygen carrying capacity is insufficient to meet physiologic needs, which vary by age, sex, attitude, smoking and pregnancy status.
Objective: The aim was acquire knowledge and skills on the management of anaemia in pediatrics patients and identify the common cause of admission in pediatric patients with anaemia at BMC
Methodology: This clinical attachment was conducted at Bugando Medical Centre and it included all patients with anaemia. Duties performed included attending ward rounds, taking investigations, taking history, examination patients and participating in decision making on the modes of treatment to be accorded to patients.
I learned so much in the four weeks of my attachment in the department.
