However EBF remains a challenge. The aim of the study was to assess knowledge, attitude and practice towards EBF among breastfeeding mothers in Kilosa District Hospital, Tanzania. Methodology: A prospective cross-sectional study was conducted among 318 mothers in Kilosa district hospital, Tanzania in September 2018 using a structured interviewer-administered questionnaire. Systematic random sampling was used to select the study participants and descriptive statistics were conducted. Results: Three hundred and eighteen breastfeeding mothers with their index children less than 2 years were enrolled. Even though 90.3% of study participants had heard about EBF, about 60.7% had a positive attitude, but only 73% believed that only EBF is enough for child up to six months and 78.6% of children were exclusively breastfed for six months. And only about 47.8% of mothers breastfed for at least half an hour during each feed. Conclusion: The majority of mothers knew about EBF and had a positive attitude towards EBF but shown poor practice towards EBF where by few number breastfed at least half an hour at Kilosa District Hospital ER -
