<br/><br/> Abstract: <br/><br/>Background: Hospital based cross sectional retrospective study was done at Bugando medical centre general peadiatric ward to find out the common other diagnosis among SCA children admitted at Bugando medical centre general peadiatric ward from January 2010 to December 2011. A minimum of 148 SCA children were studied of whom 57.3% were males and 42.7% were females. The age group 1-5 years contributed to a higher proportion by 60.2% of the total studied population. From the study, the findings showed that SCA is more prevalent in males (57.3%) than in females (42.7%). Malaria were found to be the most common causes of morbidity among SCA children which accounted for 63.3%. <br/>
