Even though much activity and effort is directed towards promoting children health there is scarcity of information of child health morbidity in the country. The objective of this study was to review pediatric admission and discharge indication of Mwananyamala Regional Hospital. Method: A hospital based cross sectional study with a follow up component was conducted in the analysis of pediatric ward admission and discharge of MRRH during august 16th to September 18th. The main diagnosis, cause of admission and death were included in the analysis. Data were analyzed by excel spreadsheet and result presented as percentage. Results: Three hundred and thirty seven pediatric patients were admitted t the hospital within the one month period. Most common diagnosis leading to pediatric admission were diseases of malaria, severe pneumonia, burn injuries, neonatal sepsis and birth asphyxia. Most death were observed in children, in neonatal ward mainly due to birth asphyxia and prematurity. In the general pediatric ward Malaria, Anemia, Severe pneumonia were the leading causes of death. Conclusion: Preventable infections are the major cause of morbidity and mortality in Mwananyamala Regional Hospital and children<5years of age are commonly affected ER -
