Background: Contraception is regarded as an important preventive measure of unintended pregnancies and sexually transmitted diseases, including human immunodeficiency virus infection and acquired immune deficiency syndrome (HIV/AIDS), among youths. This study aimed to assess the knowledge and practice of contraception among female undergraduates in Catholic University of Health And Allied Sciences Mwanza.
Objective: To determine the level of knowledge and practice of contraceptive use among female undergraduate students at CUHAS.
Methodology: A cross-sectional study was conducted among 277 female undergraduates of Catholic University of Health And Allied Sciences, Mwanza. Descriptive statistics was used for data analysis. Raw data was cleaned in Microsoft Excel (2013) and then data analysis was done using Statistical Package for Social Sciences Software (SPSS version 20.0) for analysis of the questionnaire response. A p-value of less than 0.05 was considered statistically significant.
