University students, as a critical population, have a unique set of risk factors that can increase their likelihood of developing cardiovascular disease. Moreover, their habits and lifestyle choices during this stage of life can have a lasting impact on their cardiovascular health in the future. Despite the importance of cardiovascular disease risk factors, there is limited research on the level of knowledge and awareness of these factors among university students. This study aims to fill this gap by investigating the knowledge and awareness of cardiovascular disease risk factors among university students. The results of this study will provide important information that can inform health education and intervention programs aimed at reducing the incidence of this condition. Objectives: Was to assess the level of knowledge and awareness on risk factors which subjects into cardiovascular disease among collage students. Methodology: The study design was a descriptive cross-sectional in nature using both qualitative and quantitative approaches that was carried out among SAUT students as population of choice. The questionnaire was designed to assess the level of knowledge and awareness on cardiovascular disease risk factors, including lifestyle factors Results: The results of the study indicate that 56.7% of participants had knowledge about cardiovascular risks, while 16.8% were not aware, and 26.44% had no idea. There was no statistically significant difference between male and female participants regarding their awareness of CVD risk factors. The most well-known risk factors among the participants were overweight (71.2%), high-fat diet (70.1%), physical inactivity (69.5%), alcohol use (56.8%), high blood pressure (54.8%), smoking (54.0%), advanced age (42.1%), and family history (28.8%). Additionally, 63.0% of participants agreed that a diet rich in vegetables and fruits reduces the chances of CVD.
