The UTI may cause denger to fetus and mother.these effects may be Preterm rupture of membrane, fetal demise, blindness and brematurity.the primary prevention of UTI among pregnant women is through hygienic practice among the pregnant women so as to avoid the habouring of causative agents. RATIONALE: this study will carried to determine the level of knowledge of UTI and the practices that determined to be among risk factors of UTI among pregnant women so as to understand the most cause of high UTI prevalence in pregnant women at our settings OBJECTIVES: To determine the knowledge about urinary tract infection among pregnant women at sekeotoure, To determine the risk factors of urinary tract infection among pregnant women at sekeotoure, To determine the common hygiene practices done by pregnant women at Sekoutoure METHODOLOGY: descriptive cross-sectional study design will be used to assess the knowledge of urinary tract infections and hygiene practices among pregnant women attending antenatal clinic atSekoutoure regional referral hospital in Mwanza. The sample of 384 will be chosen randomly and the participants will asked to answer questions by filling in question nare . trough SPSS the data will be analysed and presented. ETHICAL REVIEW: the study will be carried under research ethical review committee of CUHAS, and the permission will be sought from relevant authorities. DISSEMINATION: data will be disseminated to CUHASMwalim Nyerere resource library, DMO office, and office of research committee CUHAS.
