Knowledge about Presentation and Risk Factors of Breast Cancer and Practice of Breast self-Examination among Tanzania Women in Tabora Municipal.

Representing 25-35% of all female cancer case. It’s a second leading cause of cancer incidence and mortality for women in Tanzania. Methodology: The research was community based analytical prospective cross-sectional study that conducted at Tabora municipal, the population of interest were 157 interviewed by designed questionnaire and data entry and analysis was done with an assistance of computer programmer that is SPSS (statistical package for the social science) to generate frequencies, and percentages. Results: A total of 157 women were interviewed. The level of knowledge on risk factor of breast cancer was poor 56.7%, where knowledge on presentation was good in only 16.6% and knowledge on BSE was found to be good in only 14% of the respondents. Conclusion: It was concluded that the knowledge on risk factors and presentation of breast cancer and a practice of breast cancer self-examination among female in Tabora municipal was still low. The results highlight the need for breast cancer health education to Tanzanian women with an emphasis on breast changes, breast cancer and BSE technique.
