In sub Saharan Africa, diabetes is a growing burden yet little is known about prevalence, risk factors and complication of the disease. The study aims to determine the knowledge of diabetes complications among diabetic patient visiting BMC. Methodology: Cross sectional hospital-based study was conducted among diabetic patients visiting diabetic clinic at BMC. Structured questionnaire was used to obtain information such as demographic information, knowledge and awareness on DM complication and factors that associate with knowledge of DM complications. Results and Discussion: Average age of participants was 54 years, males being more than women. More number of people had enough knowledge about diabetes complications where by 45.3% had adequate knowledge, 37.6% had moderate knowledge and 16.2% had low knowledge. Most had adequate knowledge because the hospital provides diabetes classes twice a week. Conclusion and recommendation: Although most had enough knowledge diabetes and its complications still there is a need for more outreach to be done so as to ensure the enough knowledge is known even at remote areas.
