I accomplished these objectives by participants in the daily duties of diabetic nurses where; • I attended diabetic clinic every Thursday for POPD where I leant on measuring blood glucose also from doctors on how to manage different complication that the patient came with. • Attended ward round nurses where counselling and diabetic education was provided also insulin was given when needed; this was done on Monday, Tuesday and Friday. • I participated in diabetic education for outpatient and relatives who admitted their siblings and came to see them were taught on how to take care of their children when at home.

Abstract:

This elective field attachment was based on three main objectives, diabetic education, insulin therapy, and management of diabetes type one in children. Many skills concerning diabetic education acquired from diabetic nurses especially during diabetic education and other skill concerning management I acquired at POPD from intern doctors and residents during diabetic outpatients clinic.

I accomplished these objectives by participants in the daily duties of diabetic nurses where;
