Objectives: The present qualitative cross-sectional study will be conducted to determine malaria related knowledge, attitude preventive practices and utilization of IPTp-SP among pregnant women attending Baraki health centre antenatal clinic from August to September. Material and methodology: A Swahili translated and pre-tested questionnaire will be used to collect information on malaria related knowledge, attitude, preventive, practice and IPTp-SP utilization among pregnant women. Conclusion: Information generated from this study will add knowledge in control of malaria in pregnancy and also the information may be used by policy makers to strengthen malaria control in Tanzania.

Abstract:

Background: IPTp-SP during pregnancy is one of the pillars in controlling malaria and its associated morbidities in endemic countries. However, not all women who became pregnant in Africa countries have access to this services due to the number of unknown factors.

Objectives: The present qualitative cross-sectional study will be conducted to determine malaria related knowledge, attitude preventive practices and utilization of IPTp-SP among pregnant women attending Baraki health centre antenatal clinic from August to September.

Material and methodology: A Swahili translated and pre-tested questionnaire will be used to collect information on malaria related knowledge, attitude, preventive, practice and IPTp-SP utilization among pregnant women.

Conclusion: Information generated from this study will add knowledge in control of malaria in pregnancy and also the information may be used by policy makers to strengthen malaria control in Tanzania.
