The data slow that only 50 percent of infant under 6 months are exclusively breastfed (TDHS et al, 2010). So it is important to look for their understanding on EBF and why others do not practice. A total of 202 women were interviewed. The interviewed mothers were selected from RCH clinic at Makongoro health center in Nyamagana district. Data was analyzed using SPSS software. The study revealed that 150 (74.3%) of interviewed women were aware on the importance of breastfeeding whereas 52 (25.7%) were unaware of the importance of breastfeeding. It also shows that 69 (34.1%) of all women did exclusive breastfeed their children for six months, 6 (30.2%) did exclusive breastfeed for less than six months, 4 (2%) did exclusive breastfeed for more than six months and months and 68 (33.7%) were still exclusively breastfeeding their children. Conclusion: The study reveals that most of the women know what EBF and BF. But practicing EBF for six months is still a problem to months is still a problem to most of the women despite that fact that they know its role in prevention of malnutrition among infants. They always have lots of excuses not to practice EBF for six months like low milk production, busy with work, cosmetic purposes and uncomfortability.
