Summary, etc. Abstract: <br/><br/>Background: Pelvic pain in females poses a challenge as it might be difficult to identify between gynecologic and non-gynecologic causes based solely on patient history and examination. Ultrasound is identified as the primary diagnostic imaging tool for the evaluation of pelvic pathology due to its low cost, easy accessibility, widespread availability and lack of ionizing radiation. <br/><br/>Objective: This study aimed to identify the common ultrasound findings in adult’s females presenting with pelvic pain attending at BMC ultrasound department. <br/><br/>Methods: This was a cross-sectional prospective study conducted at Bugando medical centre (BMC) from to August 2023. Ultrasound examinations were performed using a 3.5 – 5.0 MHz frequency curvilinear probe on a GE V ersana balance ultrasound machine and ultrasound findings data was collected. Questionnaires were provided for participants to answer. The results of the ultrasound scan and answers to the questionnaire were analyzed us SPSS version 20 software. <br/><br/>Results: A total of 133 patient’s enrolled age group 26-35 years had highest frequency at 36.09% and the lowest was age above 56 at 8.27%. The majority were married 46.62% and employed/self-employed 74.43%. 33.83% were nulliparous and 66.17% were parous. Other symptoms commonly experienced by the patient were vaginal discharge in 52.63% of patients and fever in 44.36% of the patients. The ultrasound findings included uterine myoma at 22.56%, ovarian cysts at 21.05%, pelvic inflammatory cysts at 14.28%, cervical mass at 8.27%, bladder pathologies at 7.52%, oophoritis at 2.26%, hydrosalpinx at 2.26% and molar pregnancy 1.5%. <br/><br/>Conclusion: The most common ultrasound findings in adult females presenting with pelvic pain at BMC were uterine myoma followed by ovarian cysts, pelvic inflammatory diseases, bladder pathologies and cervical mass. Age, menstrual cycle, parity location of pain and duration of pain was significantly associated with various causes of pelvic pain. <br/>
