Summary, etc. Abstract:<br/><br/>Background information: Globally there has been increased medicalization of pregnancy due to advances in technology. Sonography or ultrasound is one of the most utilized forms of modem reproductive technology. When applied in obstetrics for specific clinical sonography provides valuable diagnostic information, however, there is limited evidence to support improved outcomes from the use of this technology as a "mutine" prenatal screening test.<br/><br/>Objective: Assessing knowledge and psychosocial obstacles among the pregnant women about the importance of ultrasound check up during attending RCH clinic at Buzuruga health Center-Mwanza region in Tanzania<br/><br/>Methodology: A cross sectional descriptive study design was employed, data was collected through questionnaires in pregnant women attending Buzuruga antenatal clinic. Data was collected through convenience the participants using pre-tested questionnaire. Timeframe fo will be two months.<br/><br/>Results/Discussion: The findings from this study revealed that, about 75.7% pregnant women attending at Buzuruga RCH were having good knowledge concerning ultrasound in term of its uses and 72.3% have understanding safety of ultrasound towards health status of the foetus and their health status in which majority mothers were reported that the ultrasound can be used to find the foetus position, to find the expected date of delivery. Majority of pregnant women attending at Buzuruga RCH were facing difficultness to achieve informed decision to perform ultrasound which were 25.7%, while 12.9% and 2% were having traditional believes limiting them to perform ultrasound and other were having spiritual limitation respectively. <br/><br/>Conclusion: Majority of pregnant women attending Buzuruga RHC were having good knowledge on importance of ultrasound and it’s beneficial while most of them have no partner support to perform ultrasound and informed decision to perform ultrasound.<br/>
