Summary, etc. Abstract:<br/><br/>Background: Birth Preparedness and Complication Readiness (BPCR) is an intervention included by the WHO as an essential element of the antenatal care package. Health care providers and professionals deliver the services include in the antenatal care package to pregnant women and is followed up. Maternal death tend to occur majorly during labour, delivery and within 24 hours postpartum. Medical causes are not only the contributors to the maternal death but also other interrelated socio-cultural factors which tend to delay care seeking. Care seeking is delayed because of the delay in identifying the complication, decision to seek care, identifying and reaching health facility and receiving adequate, appropriate and sufficient treatment at the health facility. This clearly indicates the vital need for birth preparedness and complication readiness among pregnant women as it is a necessity that act as a shield to safe delivery and motherhood.<br/><br/>Methodology: A cross sectional study design was conducted in Arusha district at Kaloleni Health Centre from September to October 2021 and randomly selected pregnant women were selected for questionnaire. The obtained results has been analyzed using SPSS Statistics 20 program and obtained qualitative data has been summarized categorically.<br/><br/>Results: 192 of 207 participants had positive attitude towards individual birth plan and complication readiness while 15 of 207 participants had negative attitude. 163 Were prepared for birth and its complications.<br/><br/>Conclusion:The findings for this study show that majority of pregnant women were prepared for birth and its complication with a positive attitude.Generally, a number of 192 (92.8%) had a positive attitude and 163 (78.8%) were prepared for birth and its complication in which it’s a result of the education provided on individual birth plan and complication readiness by the health center during every clinical day. The study has shown a proportion that is satisfactory. <br/>
