Summary, etc. Abstract: <br/><br/>Background: Cancer has become one of the leading causes of morbidity and mortality, cancer affects all people across the life span, however the risk increases with increasing age. Emergence of HIV/AIDS, increase in risk behavior such as smoking and alcohol have relatively increased the prevalence of cancer than it was several decades ago. The study is conducted in order to assess knowledge attitude and practice towards screening for cervical cancer among women of reproductive age. <br/><br/>Methods: A cross section was used where by a total of 272 mothers were involved. A structured questionnaire was provided to mothers who voluntary agreed to be interviewed. Data were analyzed using Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) 20.0<br/><br/>Results: A total of 272 women were interviewed whereby majority were between 27-33 years 104 (52.5%), and majority were not yet married 96 (38.8%) and in terms of occupation, most of them were entrepreneur 155 (58.8%). Large number of women believes that condom use is the effective method of preventing getting cervical cancer 93 (34.0%), most had positive attitude that screening for cervical cancer is helpful 190 (69.9%), even though majority were not aware of screening methods 208 (76.5%), majority 58 (29.2%) believe that multiple sexual partners to be the commonest risk factors for cervical cancer after being told on transmission of causative organism. <br/><br/>Conclusion: Most women does not know well available screening methods despite having positive attitude towards screening for cervical cancer. <br/>
