Summary, etc. Abstract:<br/><br/>Background: Cervical cancer is the most common malignancy among women worldwide. It is estimated that about 500,000 women are diagnosed each year with cancer of the cervix worldwide of which 80% are in developing countries. In developed countries the incidence decreases due to increased awareness of disease in female population where there is constant screening of women with the Pap smear. In Tanzania cervical cancer is the most frequent cancer among women. According to WHO, Tanzania is ranked number 6 with an overall incidence rate of 54.0 per 100,000 per year. Prevention of cervical cancer is through early detection by screening. <br/><br/>Objective: To assess knowledge and perception towards cervical cancer among female students at St Augustine University (SAUT). <br/><br/>Methodology: This will be cross-sectional study which will include 200 female students studying courses at St. Augustine University (SAUT) willing to participate. Data will be collected by using Questionnaire and Data entry will be done in excel and analysis using SPSS. <br/><br/>Implication: This study will assess knowledge and perception towards cervical cancer screening among female secondary students in Mwanza. This will help to design project to educate young girls and women about cervical cancer in general, also will help in making or improving programs on cervical cancer screening and education to females. <br/><br/>Results: A total of 200 participants agreed to participate the study and were interviewed during among 200 participants who participated in the study, 83 participants (40.1%) have heard about cervical cancer before, while 114 (55.1%) have cancer never heard of the cervical cancer before he study period. <br/><br/>Conclusion: Majority of female students at Saint Augustine University (SAUT) lack comprehensive knowledge of cervical cancer and none has ever gone to utilize cervical cancer screening practices. <br/>
