Summary, etc. <br/>Abstract: <br/><br/>Background: Type-2 diabetes mellitus and hypertension are generally common diseases among population, however control is poor and patient knowledge of their drug treatment is unknown at Sekou Toure regional. Referral hospital. The aim of this study was to assess patient’s knowledge regarding medication are among type-2 diabetes mellitus and hypertension and factors associated with medication knowledge to these patients. <br/><br/>Methods: Out of 216 participants 4.2% had poor medication knowledge, 62% scored fair to good knowledge and 33.8% scored excellent medication knowledge. Of these patients 8 (4.23%) out of 189 who were speaking Swahili only had poor knowledge and was significantly associated with medication knowledge. Out of 119 patients who went primary school 5 (4.20%) had poor knowledge and revealed an association with medication knowledge. Among 9 patients who were social drinkers of alcohol no one was poor in medication use, the association with medication knowledge was significant.<br/><br/>Results: Out of 216 participants 4.2% had poor medication knowledge, 62% scored fair to good knowledge and 33.8% scored excellent medication knowledge. Patients should regularly receive ongoing education regarding their treatment. <br/><br/><br/>
