Summary, etc. Abstract: <br/><br/>A community based descriptive cross sectional study was conducted among women of reproductive age in Babati district with the aim of determining knowledge, attitude and practices on artificial contraceptive methods. <br/><br/>207 women were interviewed, median age was 29 years, median parity was two. Majority were married, Moslems and had primary education. <br/><br/>Their knowledge was found to be high. About (85.0%) were using artificial contraceptives; three methods were preferred pills (37.7%), injectable (30.4%), and condoms (21.7%). <br/><br/>Most of them used artificial contraceptives for spacing childbearing. Majority were not using them fearing their side effect and potential health hazards. <br/><br/>About (47.2%) of their partners discouraged the use of artificial contraceptives while (52.7%) encouraged to use. <br/><br/><br/>
