Summary, etc. Abstract:

Opportunities for collaboration on global noncommunicable disease (NCD) research across international borders and scientific disciplines are increasingly available, coinciding with globalization of science and an unprecedented interest in global health among U.S. students, clinicians, and early-career investigators (1). However, challenges to developing and funding a global NCD research agenda remain. In September 2014, researchers representing 41 institutions, including universities, government agencies, private companies, journals, and foundations in the United States met to discuss the challenges and identify opportunities for moving forward on a global NCD research agenda. Four action items emerged from this conference.
