Abstract:
Schistosomiasis, sometimes referred to as―bilharziasis‖, can be associated with serious morbidity and mortality. This chapter fully covers the epidemiology of the disease and the different symptoms and signs. Chronic complications are generally seen in patients with a high load of parasites. The complications usually occur in individuals who live in endemic areas and who have recurrent exposure. This chapter will also include current updates and the interaction of schistosomes with other infections since this is the area of concern to clinicians. Therefore this
